Our Talented Instructors
Freedom Academy of Music Education offers some of the finest private music lessons in the Southeast. Each of our instructors have been personally selected due to their abilities to provide comprehensive and fun instruction. They have current real-life performance, recording, and touring experience as well as formal education in various facets of the music industry. This experience is integrated into their instruction for both virtual on-line and in-studio music lessons.

A Message from Scotty -
Music has always called to me. I attended the University of Georgia where I graduated and received my degree from the Terry College of Business (BBA – Management) while also completing the Music Business Certificate Program. I am honored to have been recognized by my alma mater as a recipient of their “Excellence in Music Business Award.”
Since the mid-1990’s I have been involved with many facets of the music industry including artist management, project coordination, business development, sound production, recording, and tour management. Throughout my career in the music industry, I have showcased 27 bands for major-label (Universal, Sony, Warner, EMI, etc.) recording deals and have worked with musicians of all calibers. My passion is helping musicians of all ages and individuals interested in music business to find their path and navigate the industry while helping them along the way to realize their vision of success.
I believe that music education provides many valuable skillsets and opportunities for personal growth that transfer directly into the “real” world. My wife Tara and I have seen this firsthand, with our own children, whom are aspiring musicians. We have also personally experienced how much of an impact music and expression of creativity can make in completely transforming a shy, timid child and giving them the self-confidence to command a stage in front of several hundred people.
You will find me overseeing the lessons and recording programs as well as coordinating our community outreach and engagement efforts along with my wife, Tara.
